What does the law say?

Que dit la loi ? - Blindsee

Many public and private entities are subject to Article 47 of the 2005 Disability Law and its updated implementing decree from 2019. However, they may be unaware of their legal obligations regarding accessibility.

According to the law, public communication must be accessible to all, and the accessibility of messages must be considered for all communication channels. These recommendations should address the needs of people with disabilities as well as those of the general public. In this regard, a common framework of standards and applications for government communications in the interministerial sphere has been established in an Accessible Communication Charter.

The Accessible Communication Charter addresses the need to provide information that is readable and understandable by everyone, taking into account the situations and needs of the entire French population. You can access it here.
